Status Codes - OnDeck Vision API

Error Codes

The API uses conventional HTTP response codes to indicate the success or failure of a request.

Codes in the 2xx range indicate success.
Codes in the 4xx range indicate a problem with the request (e.g., missing parameter, unknown project).
Codes in the 5xx range indicate a server-side error.

Code	Overview
200 OK	Everything worked as expected.
201 Created	Everything worked as expected.
202 ACCEPTED	The request has been accepted for processing, but processing is not yet complete. Likely an asynchronous action (validation, inference job, etc.) is still running or results are not ready. When polling, check for a `Retry-After` header or other time-estimate metadata.
204 No Content	The request succeeded and there is no content to return. Typically returned for successful DELETE operations.
400 BAD REQUEST	Cause: Malformed request syntax. Solution: Verify that all required fields are present and correctly formatted per the API reference.
401 UNAUTHORIZED, 403 FORBIDDEN	Cause: Invalid API token or insufficient permissions for the requested resource. Solution: Confirm that your token is correct and that you have access to the resource (or that it exists).
404 NOT FOUND	Cause: The requested resource does not exist. Solution: Ensure you’re querying the correct resource. For inference endpoints, double-check that the intended project ID is specified.
422 UNPROCESSABLE ENTITY	Cause: Request syntax is valid, but the content is invalid. Solution: Confirm that all required fields are supplied and contain acceptable values.
429 Too Many Requests	Cause: You have exceeded the rate limit for the API. Solution: Wait before making additional requests. Check the `RateLimit` header to manage limits.
500 SERVER ERROR	Cause: The server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request. Solution: This should not happen. If reproducible, contact [email protected] with details.
503 STATUS UNAVAILABLE	Cause: The server or an upstream service is unavailable (maintenance or overload). Solution: Try again later, or check https://status.ondeckai.com for updates.
